Technology of sintering
The technology of sintering is both one of the oldest yet simultaneously most innovative branche of the metallurgy. The compaction of metal powders and subsequent densification through sintering and optional additional processing of sintered parts is a process which has outstanding advantages: sintered components have the highest level of dimensional geometric accuracy and are reproduced in high quantities and with consistent high quality and are 10 – 15 % lighter than compact steel parts.
The metal injection moulding (MIM) is an alternative manufacturing process for casting (for example: investment casting). In our plants in Gießen and Thale we are producing a wide range of MIM-products in different materials.
